Implementing a hearing on women’s rights to obtain citizenship for their children

The Wujoud Foundation, in partnership with the Ma'an Nirtaqi Foundation, implemented a hearing session on women's legal right to citizenship in Aden Governorate. The session targeted a number of women who married foreigners and were unable to grant citizenship to their children, and to learn about their stories and the suffering they face in granting their children official documents. The session came out with a set of recommendations for the concerned party, which are: Informing the concerned parties of two inputs, the first input is women who benefited from Law 2010, and the second input is women whose rights were lost in Law 2010. Implementing the law while respecting the discriminatory practices of those working to implement the law. Raising awareness among women when issuing any law to follow up on granting citizenship to their children. Date: March 2024
